Seeds require packaging that preserves germination rates, protects against moisture and UV exposure, and handles a wide range of volumes. NNZ offers one of the broadest seed packaging portfolios available, including jute, cotton, paper, poly, woven, and FIBC bulk bag options.
The right material depends on seed type, storage duration, and logistics requirements. Moisture-resistant options such as poly bags and PP woven bags protect against humidity. Multi-ply paper bags work well where some breathability is acceptable. For seeds that require a stronger barrier against moisture or oxygen, big bags with a PE or PE/EVOH liner provide dedicated protection for bulk volumes.
Germination rates drop when seeds are exposed to excess moisture, heat, or light. Packaging that limits these factors preserves viability during storage and transit. Horticultural products such as woven box bags are designed specifically for drying seed, supporting quality control from harvest through to planting. For sensitive seed varieties in bulk, a lined big bag provides the most controlled environment.
Jute and cotton bags suit seeds where breathability and a natural presentation matter. Synthetic options, including PP woven bags, poly film bags, and FIBC bulk bags, offer higher moisture resistance, greater strength, and better suitability for large-volume or automated handling. The choice depends on seed variety, distribution channel, and buyer expectations.
Seed packaging in the U.S. must meet labeling requirements that vary by state and seed category. These cover variety, germination rate, lot number, and treatment status. NNZ supplies bags that support compliant label printing and, where required, food-grade or agricultural certification. Confirm the applicable regulatory standard for your seed type and target market before selecting a bag specification.
For large-volume transport, FIBC bulk bags handle loads from 500 to 2,000 kg and work well with standard forklift systems. Single loop FIBC bags and 4 loop FIBC bags are well suited for grain and seed applications. For smaller quantities, including retail or trial packs, poly bags, paper bags, and woven poly bags in standard sizes offer the right balance of protection and presentation.
Stable, consistently formed bags stack better and use warehouse space more efficiently. Q-bags use internal baffles at all four corners to hold a square shape when filled. This minimizes bulging and maximizes stacking density. Bulk bags with standardized lifting loops work with common forklift setups. Matching packaging to your filling line and handling equipment cuts downtime and keeps throughput consistent across the season.
