Pet food packaging must preserve freshness, protect nutritional value, and handle formats from bulk distribution to retail-ready bags. NNZ supplies paper bags, woven poly bags, poly film bags, Q-bags, and 4 loop FIBC bags for pet food producers and distributors.
NNZ supplies several formats for pet food: multi-wall paper bags for retail and branded distribution, woven poly bags for durable mid-range quantities, poly film bags for moisture-sensitive products, Q-bags for efficient bulk handling and stacking, and 4 loop FIBC bags for large-volume industrial supply chains. Each type suits a different combination of product format, volume, and distribution channel.
Dry pet food degrades when exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light. Poly film bags are available in mono, duplex, and co-extruded structures and provide strong barrier performance against humidity and oxidation. For bulk volumes, big bags with a PE, PE/Al, or PE/EVOH liner seal the product against moisture and oxygen ingress. The right barrier configuration depends on the fat content of the product and the expected shelf life.
Dry kibble is most commonly packed in multi-wall paper bags or woven poly bags. Both offer the structural strength needed for dense, abrasive products. Paper bags with valve closures work well on automated filling lines and keep dust contained. For bulk supply chain movement, Q-bags hold a square shape after filling thanks to internal baffles at all four corners. This improves stacking density. 4 loop FIBC bags handle volumes up to 2,000 kg with a safety factor of 5:1 or 6:1.
Shelf life depends on how well packaging limits exposure to moisture, oxygen, and contaminants after sealing. Big bags with a dedicated liner, available in PE, PE/Al, or PE/EVOH, extend the effective barrier for bulk products. Tight closure systems, such as valve closures on paper bags and sealed poly film structures, reduce air ingress after filling. Matching liner type and closure to the product’s fat content and storage environment gives the most reliable shelf life protection.
NNZ produces packaging for food and feed applications according to applicable hygiene and quality standards. The Q-bag is tested to ISO 21898 and meets Hygiene Level 1 with food contact levels 2 to 4. Documentation and certificates are available through NNZ’s quality management system. Confirm which standard applies to your product category before finalizing a specification with NNZ.
NNZ supplies pet food packaging across a wide size range. Retail bags typically run from a few kilograms up to 20 to 25 kg, depending on format and material. 4 loop FIBC bags for industrial distribution handle loads from 500 to 2,000 kg with a safety factor of 5:1 or 6:1. NNZ advises on the right size and configuration for your filling line, pallet format, and downstream handling requirements.
